Her foal (#73) had been sold at auction as a fall pickup. Now he seemed lethargic, so he was sent to Cornell Uni- versity, where he also tragically passed. “Thankfully, the owner had insurance on that foal,” Hunter said, “but that did not leave us feel- ing any better about how sad the situation was. When communicating with the owner we decided to offer this colt to her as a gesture. She gladly ac- cepted and decided to name him Chance.” Foal #103 will be going to a new home as soon as he is old enough to be weaned from his dam. While plans for foals #101 and #102 have not yet been announced, the pony community waits to see if these three are the last wild pony foals to arrive.
