The show supports riders of Thoroughbreds by providing affordable show fees, scholar- ships, stakes classes, and prizes in every division, helping more OTTBs find second careers. Hunter classes will be held Sat- urday, September 17 and jumper classes will take place on Sunday, September 18. Continuing an annual tradition, a free clinic with a top trainer will be held following the show. Dates, location and the clinician will be announced. In addition, scholarships will be awarded based on essay entries from riders. The Fair Hill Thoroughbred show provides a family-friendly atmosphere and a place where riders and horses can compete in a calm supportive environment. A one-day Large Animal Emergency Rescue Training clin- ic will be offered September 10 and 11 from 9 am to 4 pm at the Fair Hill Natural Resource Area fairgrounds in Elkton, MD. The clinic is appropriate for first re- sponders, horse owners or anyone interested in learning basic large animal rescue techniques and will be instructed by Equine Rescue Ambulance. Attendees will learn how to move large animals safely and quickly in cases of disas- ter or injury, while preventing potential injuries to the humans involved. The course offers in- struction and hands-on scenarios using specialized equipment and equipment that may be readi- ly available to first responder departments. Registration is limited to 40 participants so please register ear- ly. Cost is $60 per person. Dress appropriately for the weather as you will be hands-on after the morning lecture. Please bring leather gloves and safety helmet and your own drinks. Lunch will be provided.
