It is the #1 ranked health problem in insurance dollars paid out. Ulcer symptoms can include: poor appetite, dull- ness, attitude changes, decreased performance, poor body and hoof condition, rough hair coat, weight loss, and colic. SBS Equine's Dr. Richard Shakalis points out that gastric ulcers are an unintended conse- quence of the domestication of the horse. As grazing animals, they have evolved to eat many small meals per day, almost continually. The bottom line is that concentrated feeding can inadvertently contribute to ulcer formation. This is especially true during the long cold winter months when less grazing and pasture turnout can bring on ulcers. The drug eliminates most of the stomach acid, which is necessary for protein diges- tion. It should not be treated as a nuisance and removed! " Veterinarians Find Inexpen- sive Treatment for Ulcers Dr. Juliet Getty writes that many veterinarians find that a for interior applications. Extra reinforcements are incorporated to support insulation, since we often blow insulation on top of this ceiling system. With a small amount of insulation, this system noticeably enhances the noise factor – giving your space a warmer, much brighter and qui- eter feel that animals love,” said owner Gerald Sensenig. “This is probably the most cost-effective ceiling and insulation value on (Continued on page 21) (Continued on page 20)
