Winter Ready Special Advertising Section Don’t let your horse suffer this winter from itchy skin condi- tions aggravated by a thick coat and heavy blankets. Have him steam cleaned! Elegant Equine Day Spa spe- cializes in pampering your horse. Owner Shawnda Felton became so well known for having the shiniest horse in the barn that she created the Elegant Equine Day Spa. Now through her growing business, she shares her talents to those who do not have the time to do the pampering. She designed the Winter Spa to provide horses with a clean, comfortable and shiny coat throughout the “blue” months of winter. Most skin conditions arise from not being able to get deep down to remove the dust and dirt. When the cold weather makes bathing impossible, hot toweling your horse uses steam and curry action to get your fuzzy horse clean. “We provide warmed towels, fleece blankets, spa music and Steam Clean Your Horse Before Winter Strikes aromatherapy for a super spa treat- ment that promotes a better condi- tion for mane, tail and coat,” Felton said. “Our grooming techniques bring the dust to the surface to be vacuumed away before the steam clean, which helps to alleviate itchy dry skin during the winter months.” The Hot Oil Tail treatment uses a special blend of essential oils and an organic coconut-jojoba oil to remove stains and leave the tail lush. Each client receives a tail bag to protect the tail and keep it clean and shiny. The Ultra Whitening treatment leaves yellow and dingy coats, socks and tails gleaming. Felton uses only top quality products and tailors the products to each individual horse. Her proprietary Hope Diamond Spray is the finishing touch at the end of each groom. It does what it says – coats gleam like a diamond! Schedule your horse’s day of pampering by calling (814) 771-7209 or emailing forever- hope813@outlook.com. Or visit www.elegantequinedayspa.com. Riders often dread winter because of hazardous, frozen, or sloppy terrain and frigid tempera- tures that freeze the air. Instead of resigning to the gloomy fate of an unmounted season, or risking a fall by chancing the footing, think ahead and plan for an indoor arena with White Horse Con- struction. Indoor arenas may need to be designed as much as 12-24 months in advance. Key ele- ments to consider are layout, lighting, and structural strength. Layouts should minimize or eliminate the trek through inclement weather to reach the arena, as well as provide an appropriate flow for traffic entering and exiting to prevent congestion. The structure should be sturdy enough to withstand heavy snowfall or to support possible solar panels. Remember to plan for jump storage and also how to accommodate visitors, friends or family. Located in Parkesburg, PA since 1995, Simeon Stoltzfus, owner of White Horse Con- struction, is devoted to bringing clients an unfaltering dedication to detail.
