The annual Point-to- Point at Winterthur is a festive day that has it all—pageantry, fun for the entire family, and thrilling stee- plechase racing action, with purses totaling $60,000. The 44th event is scheduled for May 8, 2022. Point-to-Point returns this year with a full schedule of events, including beloved traditions such as the Parade of River Hills Fox- hounds, Keystone Region Rolls- Royce Owners’ Club Antique Auto Display, and the spectacular George A. “Frolic” Weymouth Antique Carriage Parade. Contests include the tradition- al Best Dressed Head to Toe and tailgate party judging, a Bet the House Race Raffle, and children’s stick pony races. The Marketplace offers shopping from local mer- chants. Attendees can enjoy special activities, crafts, and contests pro- vided by community organizations at the Winterthur Hunt. The finest riders and horses on the National Steeplechase Association race circuit provide unparalleled equestrian excite- ment. “I can’t think of a better way to celebrate and enjoy Mother’s Day outdoors with friends and family,” said race director Jill Abbott of Winterthur. “We know how much the community looks forward to the day as a rite of spring in the Brandywine Valley, so we are thrilled to bring back all the traditions that have made it so highly anticipated each year.” Proceeds from Point-to-Point support the continued mainte- nance and preservation of the garden and estate at Winterthur.
