Page 12 May 2022 EAST COAST EQUESTRIAN Radnor Hunt to Host 91st Meet May 21 Celebrating its 91st year in 2022, the Radnor Hunt Races return on Saturday, May 21, in Willistown Township, Chester County, PA. Tickets are now on sale for this springtime tradition that draws the best thoroughbred horses, riders and trainers from across the coun- try. All event proceeds benefit the open space and clean water programs of the Brandywine Conservancy—the sole bene- ficiary of the Races for more than 40 years. As one of the oldest region- al steeplechases, the Radnor Hunt Races will feature five thrilling jump races sanctioned by the National Steeplechase Association. The day will also include the second annual Kath- erine W. Illoway Invitational Sidesaddle Race, an antique carriage parade, and parade of foxhounds. In addition to the many different entertain- ment packages available, the all-inclusive Fox’s Den returns this year with both individual ticket options and table rentals for groups of 10. Located at the finish line, the Fox’s Den features gourmet catering, full beverage service, private restrooms, and the opportunity to network and enjoy the races from the best seat in the house. New in 2022, spectators can also choose from an exclusive selection of "Paddock Tables" located in a prime location along the track, directly in front of the horse paddock near the finish line. The Races will take place rain or shine on Saturday, May 21. Gates open at 9 a.m. and close at 5 p.m. The W. Burling Cocks Racecourse at Radnor Hunt is about a mile around, and the horses run clockwise around the circuit for two or three laps, depending on the race. The five jump races include the Milfern Cup at 1:30 p.m.; the Thompson Memorial Steeplechase at 2:05 p.m.; the Radnor Hunt Cup at 2:45 p.m.; the National Hunt Cup at 3:15 p.m.; and the Henry Collins at 3:50 p.m. Admission is sold in advance and must be pur- chased by May 11; there are no Race Day sales.
