Paige Reynolds Exercises to Improve Your Barrel Patterns (Fri., 3 pm Large Arena) Problem Solving for the Problem Barrel Horse (Fri., 5 pm, Seminar Hall A) Paige Reynolds grew up on her family farm in Reisterstown MD where she owns and oper- ates Circle R Arena. She trains horses, teaches general riding and barrel lessons, hosts barrel races and boards horses. At 13 Paige’s passion turned to barrel racing. She had 4 top ten medals at the All American Quarter Horse Congress, many rodeo wins, fi- nals qualifications, and titles. She won the SEBRA National Title in 2015, Bull Ride Mania Finals Champion and Qualifier, and APRA Rodeo Finals Qualifier. Leigha Schrader Horses & Autonomy; Giving the Horse a Voice in Training (Fri., 4 pm, Round Pen Arena) Leigha began her journey with horses in 2009 as a vol- unteer with Days End Farm Horse Rescue. After interning under DEFHR’s head trainer, Sara Strauss, she was hired as DEFHR’s assistant horse trainer. Leigha gains inspiration from working with other nationally regarded trainers like Tara Jones, Scott Purdum, Luke Gingerich and Trevor Carter. She specializ- es in liberty horsemanship, colt starting, trick work, and does liberty performances with Vinni the Mini, a DEFHR alumnus. Fran Severn It's Never Too Late for Horses (Thurs., 3 pm, Sat., Seminar Hall A) It’s OKNot to Ride Your Horse (Sat., 5 pm, Seminar Hall A) A freelance writer and broad- caster, Fran worked in broadcast news in Louisville, Kentucky, where she covered the Kentucky Derby, events at the Kentucky Horse Park, produced equine-fo- cused features and finally bought her first horse and trained in dres- sage. Her work has appeared in USDF Connection, Newsday, The Trail Rider, Western Horseman, Dog Fancy and Games. A past president of the Eastern Shore Writers Association and former PR Director for the Maryland Office of Tourism Development, she lives on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, where she enjoys riding and promoting local equine activ- ities and businesses.
