Following a one-year in-hospital rotating internship at Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital in Lexington, KY, she worked for the state of Kentucky as a Thoroughbred racetrack regulato- ry veterinarian for two years. She completed a one-year orthopedic surgery fellowship at New Bolton Center, followed by a three-year large animal surgical residency program and a PhD in regenera- tive medicine at the University of Prince Edward Island, where she is an assistant professor of large animal surgery.
