Dr. Jim Lattimer Mare & Foal Nutrition (Fri., 6 pm, Seminar Hall A) Feeding the Performance Horse (Sat., 10 am, Seminar Hall A) Dr. Jim Lattimer obtained a B.S. in Animal Sciences and Industry from Kansas State University, a M.S. in equine nutrition from Oklahoma State University and a Ph.D. in comparative nutrition at KSU. After serving as a Technical Nutritionist for Nestle Purina, he joined the KSU Animal Sci- ences faculty, teaching nutrition courses and conducting research in equine and comparative nutrition with an emphasis on digestive physiology and the gut microbiome. He joined ADM Animal Nutrition in July 2021 where he is the nutritionist responsible for all equine prod- ucts. Jennine Lection, DVM, DACT What to Expect When Your Mare is Expecting (Sat., 3 pm, Seminar Hall B) Originally from North Carolina, Jennine received both her BS in Animal Science and her DVM with an emphasis on equine practice from North Carolina State University. She completed her equine rotating internship at the Equine Medical Center of Ocala in Florida and specialization training through a reproductive medicine res- idency at Cornell University. She became a board-certified theriogenologist in 2021. She currently is a graduate student in the Integrative and Biomedical Physiology program at Penn State University. Dr. Lection’s research interests include inflam- matory and infectious conditions of the equine reproductive tract including placentitis and endo- metritis.
