Sylvia Decker Why the Little Things Matter (Fri., 10:05 am, Round Pen Arena) Team HorsePower is a group of teens who are ambas- sadors for the PA 4-H Horse and Pony program. They teach horsemanship and safety skills at clinics, camps, and work- shops, and promote the 4-H program. Sylvia has conducted Team Horse Power demonstra- tions and presented at numerous Ag Tours for third and fourth graders and Kindergartener Awareness Days. A lifelong horse owner, she has competed in barrel racing, ranch horse, trail, English events and dres- sage. Visit Team Horse Power at Penn State 4H Horse Prog. booth 610, 611. Julia Dillon Building a Bombproof Horse (Thurs., 12:05 pm, Round Pen Arena) Team Horse Power is a group of teens selected from across the state of Pennsylvania to be ambassadors for the 4-H Horse program. Their mission is to teach horsemanship and safe- ty skills at clinics, camps, and workshops, and to promote the 4-H program through activities at events. The members come from a wide range of equine dis- ciplines. Julia Dillon leads the team in Bombproofing demon- strations. With a background in both English and western, she now competes in reining, ranch horse, trail, mounted shooting, horsemanship and showman- ship. Hilary Dorazio Introduction to Showmanship (Thurs., 6 pm, Round Pen Arena) Hilary Dorazio has achieved multiple top-ten national cham- pionships and reserve champi- onships in a variety of English and Western disciplines. Hilary learned dressage, participated in 4-H in western pleasure, reining, games and halter and compet- ed on the quarter horse circuit. Hilary studied Equine Business Management at Cazenovia Col- lege and rode on all three riding teams. She participates in trail challenges and has a small lesson barn and training facility where she passes on her knowledge to the next generation. Montie Eagle Do You Have the Right Horse? (Thurs., 2 pm, Seminar Hall A) Concerns for the Older Rider (Friday, 11 am, Seminar Hall A) Montie Eagle studied classical dressage beginning in the early 1980’s before discov- ering western dressage through Jack Brainard in 2006. Montie teaches students from all disci- plines at her Carlisle PA facility, specializing in adult beginners and adults returning to riding. Montie believes that dressage is for everyone and that each horse and rider can gain from work in dressage.
