She received her BS from Rutgers University in Equine Science and worked for Rutgers Cooperative Extension for several years before starting a MS in Plant Biology, also at Rutgers. She has a BS in Animal Science from the University of Florida and an MS in Animal Science from Oklahoma State University with a specializa- tion in Equine Extension Educa- tion. Her graduate research studied large animal disaster preparedness. Brittani loves connecting horse owners with current equine science research and helping them apply findings on their horse farms. Melisa Klem Buying Your Dream Farm (Sun., 2 pm, Seminar Hall A) Melisa grew up riding and showing in local equitation classes and at 16, discovered her love for dressage, working for a local Grand Prix dressage trainer and competing at the CBLM and USDF Regional Championships. In 2010, Melisa left the non-profit sector for a new career in real estate, specializing in assisting her fellow riders. She has built a successful team, The Homestead Team, whose agents are life-long equestrians. She lives in Sykes- ville, MD and enjoys riding her athletic Oldenburg mare, Serenity. He has been with the department, which oversees the county 911 dispatch center, emergency management office and administers specialized response teams including hazard- ous materials and swiftwater, for 23 years. Susan has been Coordi- nator of the Somerset County An- imal Response Team since 2014 and her township’s Emergency Management Coordinator.
