A Delaware Valley University graduate with a BA in Equine Training and Instruc- tion and an MBA, she spent a semester at Hartpury College (Gloucester, England). She has trained with several FEI trainers most notably Louise Davison of Tamworth, England, ridden un- der the watchful eyes of Conrad Schumacher and studied with Carl Hester, MBE, and Sandy Phillips. Rachel Cloninger & Madi Heilveil Penn State Opportunities for the Horse Crazy Kid (Thurs., 3 pm, Seminar Hall B) Rachel Cloninger majored in Animal Science at Penn State and is now Penn State’s Animal Science Advising Coordinator, where she recruits prospective students, advises undergradu- ate students and teaches. Madi recently graduated from Penn State majoring in Animal Science with minors in Agribusiness Management and Equine Science. Now an advising assistant in the Department of Animal Science, she acts as an academic advisor and recruits prospective students. Holly Corcoran Introduction to Endurance Riding (Thurs., 1 pm, & Sat., 6 pm, Seminar Hall B) Holly and her horses have won numerous 100-mile rides and continue to compete at the highest level. As of January 2020, Holly was ranked first place FEI endurance rider worldwide; her horse Poete was ranked first horse worldwide. Holly has qualified horses for each of the last 3 world championships. In 2021, she and Poete were selected as one of the top five combinations to compete in the World Endurance Championships in San Rossore, Italy. Julie Cyra Gaited Horses & Saddle Fitting; What It’s All About (Fri., 3 pm, Seminar Hall A) A Saddle That Fits! And What We All Need to Know to Find One (Sat., 3 pm, Seminar Hall A) The owner of one of the country’s largest saddle shops, West 20 Ranch & Saddle Co., in East Troy, WI, Julie works close- ly with many saddle manufactur- ers to determine what is missing in the industry and to help them build affordable products. Barry Decker On the Road Again (Fri., 1 pm, Seminar Hall B) Team Horse Power is a group of teens who are ambassadors for the PA 4-H Horse program. They teach horsemanship and safety skills at clinics, camps, and workshops, and promote the 4-H program through activities at events, from local to state level.
