She started Aiken’s first horse trials at Sporting Days Farm in South Carolina in 1988. The series continues through the present. Sporting Days Farm hosts four USEF/USEA Horse Trials in Aiken SC that run December through April, and three unrecog- nized cross country events. As an older junior she rode for other owners including two past presidents of the Devon Horse Show, compet- ing against the likes of Michael Plumb, Michael DelBalso, Michael Page, Patty Heuckeroth, Mary Mairs Chapot and others. She came to Bryn Lea Farm in Pennsylvania to train, teach and board horses for 18 years. She, Lana Dupont (the first woman allowed to compete in Olympic eventing) and Kathleen Freeman started Maryland’s first horse tri- als. A former Pony Club District Commissioner, Glass enjoyed showing and eventing, taking kids to horse trials, training clients through Intermediate levels and winning numerous ribbons includ- ing sidesaddle championships.
