Page 18 March 2021 EAST COAST EQUESTRIAN Penn State University will hold its 19th annual Quarter Horse Sale April 27th through May 1. The online auction, pro- duced by Pro Horse Services, will feature high quality show horses raised in a teaching environment, making them desirable to show horse owners. Penn State has raised Quarter Horses for more than 60 years. The university has a long history of tremendous faculty and staff who work with the students to produce not only high quality horses but also high quality equine professionals. The horses offered for sale through the auction were born and have been raised at the university. The Stables at Fox Crossing features year-round monthly jumper shows at their beautiful and historic farm in Cochranville, Southern Chester County, PA. The courses are excellent and the format is rider-friendly. Upcoming jumper shows will be held March 21, April 11, May 16 and June 20. Clinics are also offered throughout the year. The history and tradition of the Penn State Horse Sale began 19 years ago, and it is a completely student run event. The students do most of the work with the horses and most of the planning and implementation of the event. In all, there are usu- ally 70-80 students involved with the process each spring. COVID 19 caused the traditionally in-person event to be held online in 2020 and it will once again be online in 2021.
