The Mid Atlantic Nutrition Conference will be held April 7-8 at the Delta Hotels Baltimore Hunt Valley in Hunt Valley, MD. This conference represents the formal collaboration between institutions and industries in Maryland, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, Delaware and New Jersey and provides up-to- date application science for the animal feeding industry. The MANC is recognized as a premier educational event for the animal nutrition industry. Local, national, and international nutritionists share new, inno- vative, and practical research being conducted at universities, in industry and at government institutions. Regulatory issues and future opportunities are discussed. While the Conference offers sessions for a variety of species, the Equine Nutrition session, held April 8, is unique to the region, offering a full day of timely and current research presentations directed at those feeding horses of all disciplines. The planning committee is composed of a dynamic group of equine profes- sionals from across the region. Topics are: Feeding Forage for a Healthy Hind Gut presented by Dr. Tania Cubitt, Performance Horse Nutrition Alfalfa: When is it the Right Choice for Horses? presented by Dr. Amanda Grev, University of Maryland Pasture Strategies for Easy Keepers presented by Dr. Krishona Martinson, University of Minnesota Potential Risks of Pasture Intake presented by Dr. Shannon Pratt-Phillips, North Carolina State University Pasture Improvement Costs and Resources presented by Laura Kenny, MS, Penn State Extension Registration includes admis- sion to all sessions, the social hour on April 7, and a group luncheon on April 8. A one-day registration option is available for April 8 and includes breaks and lunch for that day. Accommodation arrange- ments need to be made before March 2 to ensure the lowest rates.
