The King of Devon Continues His Reign at the 2022 Devon Horse Show Kozumplik and Rubens D’ysieux produced a fast and careful round in 73.223 seconds to rocket to the top of the leaderboard. Martin and his second mount, Fernhill Prezley were last to go. Re- turning with no faults, Martin and Fernhill Prezley produced a clear effort but their time of 84.171 sec- onds gave them a third-place finish, along with a second place finish on his other mount, Ferdarman B. Hunters The $25,000 USHJA Interna- tional Hunter Derby welcomed a field of 33 top hunter exhibitors. Hunt Tosh aboard Autograph was awarded the champion ribbon with a total score of 383.5. Greg Crolick and Chappy were reserve champions finishing just a half point behind. Nick Haness was named the Grand Hunter Champion for his many stellar performances in the Dixon Oval. Haness and Only Always, produced impressive rounds Monday and Tuesday in the Green Conformation Hunter division winning the over fences class and finishing second in the second over fences and third in the under saddle. They were named champions of the Green Conformation Hunter division with 45 points. Scott Stewart was named the Leading Hunter Rider for the 16th time, including each Devon Horse Show since 2015. The Leading Lady Rider Award was given to Amanda Steege who rode Lafitte De Muze, the High Performance Working Hunter with the most points in the Regular Working Hunter Section. The Devon Lead- ing Groom Award was presented to David Vega. The Ladies Side Saddle champion was Ashleigh Glorioso and her 23 year old Epilogue, who were first time champions. Alexis C Dipasqua and Reba Dean, a 16-year-old Thorough- bred mare owned by Stephen Di Pasqua, were reserve champions. Driving Carriage competitors made their debut on Sunday, May 29 with the Champion Drive- Off. John White took home the Carriage Pleasure Drive Champi- onship following 4.5-mile drive through the picturesque neighbor- hoods of Devon, PA which ended at the showgrounds for the final judging. After claiming the win in the Horse Unicorns and Four-In- Hands, White wowed the crowd in the Champion Drive-Off with his two front-facing Lipizzan horses from Hungary and two Kladruber horses from the Czech Republic. Michael Pontz took first place in the Pony Single Harness Two-Wheeled Vehicles. Richard O’Donnell’s win in the Double Harness-Pairs Tandems class marked his fourth consecutive year earning the Devon blue. O’Donnell also walked away with the Pleasure Drive Amateur Whip Award, for best exempli- fying the traditions of carriage driving at the highest level. The Single/Pair Pony Driv- ing championship winner was Rebekah Robinson with Salt- wood Kite. Robinson, who won the division in 2019, claimed first place in the Single/Pair Pony – Pleasure Turnout and the Single/ Pair Pony – Scurry Driving competition. She also won Sun- day’s Pony Single Harness – Four Wheeled Vehicles class, part of the Carriage Pleasure Drive. Earlier in the day, Richard O’Donnell was named champion of the Horse Pairs division, with a first place in the Horse Double Harness-Pairs-Tandems class with his Spider Phaeton on Sun- day, a blue ribbon in the Horse Pairs Pleasure Turnout and a second in the Horse Pairs Scurry Driving. PJ Crowley III driving Bonterra Farm’s Brewster Peters Phaeton was awarded reserve honors with 14 points. The Single Horse Driving championship was won by Gail Aumiller with own Sjaantje, a 17-year-old Friesian mare. The pair won the Single Horse Plea- sure Driving Turnout and had a second in the Single Horse Scurry Driving competition. The reserve champion title was awarded to PJ Crowley III, who won the Single Horse Scurry competition. Paul Martin and his Brewster Park Drag took home the win in the Four-In-Hand Suitable for Plea- sure Coaching class. The Four-In-Hand Coaching championship, comprised of four classes held throughout the week, was won by Harvey Waller with his four talented Dutch horses. The reserve champion was Paul Martin and his Brewster Park Drag. Saddlebreds The Three-Gaited English Pleasure Horse division featured 11 competitors. Jennifer Verre and Come As You Are took home the top prize. The reserve cham- pionship was awarded to Molly Codeanne and CH Roselane’s Town Topic.
