The EDCC Disease Alerts app connects directly to the disease alert page, making it easy for users to filter information by disease, location and date. Users have quick access to the disease risk informa- tion necessary to make decisions about travel and biosecurity. The app also provides access to disease fact sheets with helpful information about diagnosis and treatment. “The EDCC is a reliable source for not only accessing disease threats, but also defining progres- sion of disease events,” said E.S. “Rusty” Ford, equine operations consultant, Kentucky Office of State Veterinarian. “The greatest benefit is reliability of the information posted enabling us and others opportunity to develop and implement dis- ease-mitigating strategies.” Keep information about equine infectious diseases at your finger- tips by downloading the EDCC DiseaseAlert app and encouraging others to do so. Search “EDCC DiseaseAlerts” at theApp Store or Google Play to download. The Willowdale Steeple- chase has been a Chester County, PAMother’s Day tradition for over 27 years. In 2020, the 28th Running of the Willowdale Stee- plechase continues that tradition – but with a big twist. The 2020 races will run Satur- day – the day before Mother’s Day. The races will run on Satur- day, May 9, 2020. They’ll still be a big part of Mother’s Day week- end, but for those who have other family traditions on Mother’s Day itself, the Saturday race date will give them an opportunity to expe- rience the thrill of the Willowdale Steeplechase and still honor their own special traditions. “We decided to move race day to Saturday so that business- es and families will no longer have to choose between a Sunday celebration with mom or a day at the races.” says Willowdale Steeplechase Race Chairman, W. B. Dixon Stroud, Jr. As always, Willowdale will feature world class steeplechase racing, pony races, Jack Russell terrier races, boutique shopping, an antique car display, a tailgate competition, food vendors, and activities for children. Stroud also announced “Tents on the Turn” – new for 2020. “There will now be four 20 x 30 hospitality tents right on the rail. These tents will allow guests to enjoy a festive lunch- with the sound of pounding hooves and an exciting up close and personal view of the racing.” For more information, visit www.willowdale.org or email Lisa Hatcher at lhatcher@willowdale. org.
