Page 8 August 2021 EAST COAST EQUESTRIAN The 2021 Pennsylvania Equine Council Annual Member- ship Meeting and Equine Issues Forum will be held November 12 and 13 at the Holiday Inn Harris- burg, Grantville, PA. The annual Board of Direc- tors meeting will begin at 5:30 pm on Friday, November 12. All PEC members and the public are invited. Snacks and beverages will be provided. Following the meeting, attendees are invited to enjoy entertainment and dancing in the Saloon. The Issues Forum will be held Saturday, November 13. Registration begins at 8 am and the forum will run from 8:30 am to 4 pm. A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided. Focus of the day will be on Pennsylvania related topics, ending with a visit to an equine venue. Speakers will include: GT Thompson PA State Representative: Republican Leader of the Agriculture Com- mittee a senior member of the Education & Labor Committee, GT focuses on the issues facing rural businesses, communities, and families. PA Department of Agri- culture- Manure and Pasture Management: All horse opera- tions in Pennsylvania, both large or small, are required to have a Nutrient Management Plan or Manure Management Plan. At- tendees will learn about and have the opportunity to ask questions about their plan. Scott Ardnt - MIDSAR Search and Rescue Horse Team: Scott, of Middle Creek Search & Rescue will discuss how horses are used in Search and Rescue. Jim Fiorini - “The Hay Guy”. Equine Nutrition: Jim will offer insights in how to manage your hay to offset some of the angst. Jessica Crosby - Equine Massage: Why does my horse need a massage?
