Page 24 April 2020 EAST COAST EQUESTRIAN Special Advertising Section Clinics, Shows, Camps and Events Horsemanship and Cow Working will be the focus of a Trina Morris clinic held April 24-26 at the Treharne Training Center, Negley, Ohio. Kitrina Morris has spent over 30 years traveling the US and Canada helping riders and horses of all ages and all disciplines. She began her horse adventure as a child helping her father guide hunting trips on horseback and driving teams in the Kananakis mountains. As a young lady her interest grew into three-day eventing, and she successfully competed in Canada. She carried her enthusiasm to New Zealand, and Australia working with event- ing and western pleasure horses. USHJA Young Hunter Pony Championships Planned The 2020 Kym K. Smith/ USHJAYoung Hunter Pony Championships will return to the Virginia Young Horse Festival at the Virginia Horse Center in Lexington on August 23. In addition to $20,000 in total prize money and great prizes, the 2020 Championships will offer the following sections: Hunter Pony 4- and 5-Year-Olds 2’, Hunter Pony 4- and 5-Year- Olds 2’ or 2’3” (exhibitor’s choice), Hunter Pony 6- and 7-Year-Olds 2’, Hunter Pony 6- and 7-Year-Olds 2’ or 2’3” (exhibitor’s choice), and Hunter Pony 6- and 7-Year-Olds 2’6” to be made up of one model, one under saddle class and two over fences classes. A division for 5-Year-Olds and Under for ponies not competing in the 4- and 5-Year-Olds over fences classes will also be offered and will include an under saddle class, an under saddle class to be made up of 30% conformation, and a model. The Kym K. Smith/USHJA Young Hunter Pony Cham- pionships aim to develop the Hunter Breeding sport and create opportunities for current and new owners, breeders and handlers to showcase talented young Hunter pony prospects. While riders in the Championships must be juniors, sections are not further restricted by the age of junior competitors. The Virginia Young Horse Festival will also play host to the 2020 Sallie B. Wheeler/USEF/ USHJA Hunter Breeding Nation- al Championship-East Coast on August 22. For more information about the Kym K. Horsemanship, Cow Working Clinic Offered Kitrina's journeys brought her to the ranches of California, where she worked thoroughbreds from the tracks, and ranch horses. She has worked with some of the best horseman in the world. When Ki- trina is not on the road, she starts colts and rides client’s and sales horses at her ranch in Wyoming. Kitrina will provide both rider and horse with a unique clinic experience, always working from where the rider and the horse are. Her clinics make horsemanship fun, and challenging, and will for- ever change the horse and rider. The clinic will run 9am-4pm.
